Connecting to the controller interface
There are three methods that can be used to connect to the SmartgridOne Controller:
- Using the remote function in the app (recommended)
- Using the Wi-Fi Service Dongle
- Through the local network of the SmartgridOne Controller
Using the remote function does not require the installer to be at the physical installation.
1. Connecting using the remote function
-
Make sure the SmartgridOne Controller is turned on and connected to the power adapter.
-
Log in to your Insights
-
Go to "Add controller"
- Fill in your Serial Number and Verification Code
- Claim the controller
notitieYou only need to claim a controller once, skip this step if you already claimed the controller.
-
Go to "Settings"
- Under "Current Site" select the new controller
-
Go to "Controller Configuration"
2. Connecting using the Wi-Fi Service Dongle
-
Make sure the SmartgridOne Controller is turned on and connected to the power adapter.
-
Insert the Wi-Fi Service Dongle into one of the USB ports on the SmartgridOne Controller.
-
Allow 1–2 minutes for the Service Dongle to establish its Wi-Fi network. The network will appear as an Ad-hoc network, named after the start of the serial number, with the default password: SGC_SERVICE
notitieFor example, a controller with serial number OM1230308HCZQ17DEFA will create a network named OM1230308HCZQ, with the password SGC_SERVICE.
-
Open a web browser and go to: http://controller.config. If this address does not work, try: http://192.168.34.1.
3. Connecting through the local network
Please note that your device (smartphone or computer) and the SmartgridOne Controller must be connected to the same LAN network and both have a working network configuration. The SmartgridOne Controller is configured by default to receive an IP address via DHCP. In rare cases where the network infrastructure does not provide DHCP, it is possible that the SmartgridOne Controller will not receive a valid network configuration. If that is the case, you will need to use the Wi‑Fi Service Dongle or Remote for the initial installation of the SmartgridOne Controller.
- Make sure the SmartgridOne Controller is turned on and connected to the power adapter.
- Download an IP-scanner like Advanced IP Scanner (Windows) or Fing (Android & iOS)
- Connect your device to the same LAN-network as the SmartgridOne Controller
- Scan for the IP address of the controller on the network. You can identify the controller by its MAC address (see the label on the SmartgridOne Controller).
- Open a web browser and navigate to the IP address of the controller, for example: http://192.168.1.123
