The Controller communicates with the Energy Socket over its Local API (TCP/IP, port 80). The socket and the controller must be connected to the same network.
Configuration
To communicate with your HomeWizard device the local API must be enabled.
- Set up the Energy Socket in the HomeWizard Energy app and connect it to the same network as the Controller.
- Open the HomeWizard Energy app.
- Go to "Settings"
- Go to "Meters"
- Select the Energy Socket you want to connect to.
- Enable the "Local API" option.
Note
As long as the Local API is disabled, the socket refuses every request. The controller will then report that the local API must be enabled instead of showing any measurements.
Use as switched load or as energy meter
When adding the Energy Socket to the Controller, the setup wizard asks how you want to use it:
- Switched Load: the Controller can switch the socket on and off for load control, and it monitors the power and energy consumption of the connected appliance.
- Energy Meter: the Controller only monitors the power and energy consumption of the connected appliance. It will never switch the socket, so the appliance always stays powered.
Choose Energy Meter if you only want submetering — for example for an appliance that must never be switched off.
Switch lock
The HomeWizard Energy app has a "Switch lock" option that prevents the socket from being switched off. When you use the socket as a Switched Load, this option must stay disabled — otherwise the v cannot switch the socket off and will report that the switch lock is enabled.
