Configuration and Interface Details

The Kempower Charging Station uses Modbus TCP as the communication basis.

To ensure communication with the SmartgridOne Controller, note the following:

  1. Connection Requirements: Connections are only allowed from the same subnet the charging station is connected to.
  2. Modbus Port: The standard Modbus Port used is 502.
  3. Maximum Connections: The maximum number of simultaneous connections is 10.

Power Limit Management

The Kempower Charging Station accepts power limit control only via the Modbus TCP interface when Modbus messages are detected.

  • OCPP Conflict: OCPP power limitation messages are not accepted when Modbus is used.
  • Fallback Power: The maximum power used when communication times out reverts to the Fallback Power (W) setting. This power is also used at startup until the Assigned Maximum Power has been received.
  • Minimum Power: Any power limit values below 1000W are interpreted as 0W, which effectively stops charging.
