Wiring

The SmartgridOne Controller communicates with the iWell Cube battery system using Modbus TCP (Ethernet).
Connect the Ethernet (LAN) port of the battery system to the same network as the SmartgridOne Controller.

RS485 Wiring
  • For correct RS485 wiring: Follow the guidelines for RS485 wiring.
  • If the wiring shown in the table below is incorrect, please let us know.
  • There is no general consensus in the industry about the usage of A and B for the RS485 polarity, so it may be counterintuitive and opposite of what you might expect for some devices.

Tip

Ensure both the SmartgridOne Controller and the iWell Cube battery are in the same IP subnet
(e.g. 192.168.1.xxx) and can communicate over port 1025.

Warning

The iWell Cube Modbus TCP interface is active only when the battery system is powered on and initialized.
Do not connect to inactive units or during firmware updates.
